Next Regular Council Meeting

The next Regular Council meeting will be held on October 25 at 5 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public virtually through Zoom. If you are interested in attending a meeting, please email info@cityofarmstrong.bc.ca.

Annual Fall Pruning & Yard Waste Pickup 

This one-time unlimited pickup is scheduled to begin Monday, November 1, 2021. The materials must be at the curb before 7 a.m. For additional information on guidelines, please contact the City of Armstrong at 250-546-3023 or click here for details.

Be Bear Aware!

The City of Armstrong is aware of bear activity within our community. We kindly ask that residents take the appropriate steps to ensure their property is bear-proof. Steps MUST be taken by residents to ensure that our community is not put at further risk and ultimately ensuring no further bears become habituated.

Campfire Ban Lifted

The City of Armstrong lifted the Campfire Ban effective 12:00 p.m., Thursday September 16, 2021 based on the recommendations from the Armstrong Spallumcheen Fire Chief. 

While campfires will be allowed, open burning remains prohibited, including the use of fireworks, sky lanterns and burn barrels. Click this link for a detailed list of prohibited activities.

All Semi-Annual Utility Notices have been mailed out. The due date is November 29, 2021. 

This notice applies to residential properties.

Interior Health Immunization Clinic

Interior Health Authority has informed the City of Armstrong that the Immunization Clinic will be relocating from St. Joesph's Hall to the Pleasant Valley Health Centre.

Beginning Sept 23, the clinic at the Pleasant Valley Health Centre will happen every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. - 3:50 p.m. The clinic will close from noon to 1:20 p.m.

The last clinic at St. Joesph's Hall will be Sept 16th from 9:30 a.m. - 3:50 p.m.

Riparian Area Assessments

NOTICE: Starting March 17, 2021 The City’s Environmental Consultants, Western Water Associates, will be conducting Riparian Area Assessments on both Deep Creek and Meighan Creek. If you see the crews in or around Armstrong creeks, be aware they are conducting works for the City to better understand our aquatic and riparian habitats.

Public Statement - Legal Rezoning of Affordable Housing Site

The City of Armstrong is aware that concerns have been raised in the community regarding whether the City has met its legislative obligations in the rezoning and redesignation of property behind the Nor-Val Sports Centre Arena for an affordable housing project. Property Taxes & Homeowner Grant Changes

The due date for ALL properties was July 2, 2021. A 10% penalty has been applied to all outstanding Property Taxes including any unclaimed Homeowner Grants. To claim your Homeowner Grant through the new application process established by the Province of B.C. for 2021, go online at www.gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant.

Or call 1-888-355-2700 to claim over the phone with an automated system or a live agent.

You are still able to claim the retroactive grant for 2020 if you are eligible through the Province of B.C. at www.gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant.
