Spring Yard Waste Pick Up

In order to help limit the number of individuals visiting the Regional District of the North Okanagan’s Diversion and Disposal Facilities (DDF) we will be continuing with the Spring Pruning & Yard Waste Pick up program starting on April 14, 2020. Please note that all branches MUST be bundled.  Bags and bundles must also be placed away from other obstacles in order for the crew to pick them up. For more information visit our Public Works page. 

Utility Notices

Cemetary Clean up

The Township of Spallumcheen has indicated that the Armstrong-Spallumcheen Cemetery clean up will be underway mid April. For more information see the media release here.

Official Community Plan

Thank you to everyone who completed the Official Community Plan Questionnaire. The next stage of the OCP review process is to have staff hold focused workshops on topic areas identified in the questionnaires. Spring Freshet and Flooding

Property Taxes 2019

Property taxes for the 2019 calendar year have been levied. The Due Date has passed and a 10% penalty was applied to all outstanding taxes. As of January 1, 2020 interest has begun accruing.

Flood Mapping and Risk Assessment Report

The City of Armstrong recently approved the Flood Mapping and Risk Assessment Report (January 21, 2019) and directed staff to proceed with implementing the recommendations.  A copy of the report can be on our Emergency Management page.

Garbage Collection

Waste Connections of Canada is the contractor for residential curbside garbage collection. The contact phone number for Waste Connections of Canada is 1-855-765-0565. Residents can use this number to report garbage-related problems. Complaints regarding garbage collection in general can be made directly with City Hall.

DDF (Landfill) Hours of Operation

The Armstrong Spallumcheen Recycling and Disposal Facility is now formally called a "Diversion & Disposal Facility" (DDF) and is open year round. For the most up-to-date hours you can check their website at the link provided. You can view the schedule here.


Recycling is looked after through Recycle BC. The local contractor is Emterra Environmental and they can be reached at 250-545-4245 with inquiries or bin requirements. For more information on the program visit the Recycle BC website.
